The Letter To The Hebrews
Nick Roussakis
Library

The theme of this letter, (many of the church fathers attribute it to Paul), deals with the relation of Christ to the Levitical priesthood and the temple sacrifices. .

It continually quotes the Old Testament to confirm its affirmations. The Epistle was written to explain to the Jewish believers that the animal sacrifices, to which they were so zealously attached, were no longer of any use, and that could never take away sin. They were never intended to be perpetual but they had been planned to be an age-long picture of the coming sacrifice of Christ, and now that He had come, they had served their purpose.

If Evangelism Scares You, This Class Is For You
Peter Cooney Pastor Bryan’s Office

Many Christians dream about what it would be like to lead just one person to faith in Christ. A two month evangelism video training program with a workbook is designed for you to study everything from building relationships with non-Christians and turning a conversation to spiritual things, to presenting the Gospel and reaching those who can be hard to reach, such as relatives and cultists.

The format will provide a fellowship atmosphere for discussion and interaction. You will be encouraged to approach non-Christians you meet in a manner that is non-threatening. Please sign up on the table in the back foyer.

Prayer - Does It Make a Difference?
John Vogan
Library
What is prayer? How does it work? And more importantly, does it work? Over the course of the next 12 weeks we will attempt to answer these and other questions that occur in our daily Christian lives.

In six thought-provoking and inspiring video sessions (we will cover one session every two weeks), award winning author Philip Yancey will guide our study and help us to achieve a more rewarding and satisfying relationship with God through prayer.

There will be time, each week, to discuss questions based on the video presentations as well as Bible exploration and personal sharing.

The Book of Romans
George Ostojic
Pastor Frank’s Office
Paul wrote the book of Romans in 57 AD to believers in the capital city of the empire, Rome. In its greatest period, Rome had one million inhabitants who had to be entertained constantly. There was not much to do in Rome itself so emperors introduced gladiatorial games and other amusements to keep the tumultuous crowd happy.

The book serves as an introduction of Paul to the Romans and is meant to enlist their help in spreading the Gospel especially for his desire to preach in Spain.

Paul had experienced salvation through grace alone and so he develops and defends the truth of the Gospel he had been experiencing and preaching. Romans contains the clearest expression of Christian belief, covering the major issues of faith, works, law and grace. Many people have been powerfully influenced by the book of Romans including: Martin Luther, John Wesley and St. Augustine. These all went on to become the giants of Christendom and their influence is still with us today.
Come and be powerfully influenced as we study this book. Join us won't you?
